Sketchbooking

One of the first things my travel sketching instructor told the class was to get a hardbound book.

So I got my first hardbound book. That was back in October. I only have a few pages left!

The hardbound book forces the perfectionst part of us to give up trying, because the inevitable, unintentional lines will always happen. Then you become free to experiment.

Since October, I have been routinely sketching (almost) every Monday at a cafe, and every Tuesday at a figure drawing group. Before I knew it, the pages had filled up! I will run out of paper next week. :)

I have not been able to take pictures and have them look OK. It seems the sun is always already down when I remember to take pictures! Here are a few I took a while ago. These are some of the very first pages of the sketchbook.

Soon I'll pick a few favorites from the rest of the book.
